The Naylor Trust

The Naylor Trust (also known as The Schools Trust or The Land Trust) was established to help young people living in Croft with their educational, social and physical training needs. Many have benefited from grants to assist with the purchase of equipment for higher education, sports activities and training events together with international projects and events.

It is rewarding to hear how our young people have benefited and developed through the Trusts support. Although not a condition of grants been awarded, it is always pleasing when people show their appreciation by reporting back their achievements and adventures and we welcome this either in writing or by a short talk at one of our meetings. This is particularly helpful to us in promoting the Trust and in encouraging others to apply.

One grant was awarded to Corwyn Hall to support him on a project where he led a team of 12 young people from across the UK to help construct a classroom and assembly hall at the Mother Teresa Academy Matriculation School in Vadamadurai, India. The photo below shows him hard at work. Eleanor Brear seen here in action, benefited from a grant to fund her attendance at the National Water Polo Academy at Lancaster University. Emma Stars was helped with her involvement in an ecological research project into bats in Honduras. Others have received grants to help buy/provide equipment when attending university.

These are just a few examples so if you are resident in Croft, are 25 years old or under and would like financial support for your educational or training needs, then please apply in writing to our Secretary:

The Trust also supports the Sunday School and has helped with the purchase of musical instruments, educational materials, stationary items and cooking ingredients. Funding for the sound and projection equipment in the hall has enabled outreach to the children in the community through the family film club. This encourages other young people, particularly newcomers to take advantage of the facilities the Sunday School has to offer. Furthermore, by working in collaboration with Croft Primary School, funds have been used to promote faith through music via the project iSingPOP.
